Culture & Sovereignty
The sovereignty of the islands remains a long-standing geopolitical dispute between the UK and Argentina, which claims them as the Islas Malvinas. However, the Falkland Islanders themselves are predominantly of British descent and have continually expressed a strong desire to retain their current political status.
