Melka Kunture is a major Paleolithic archaeological site located in the upper Awash Valley, about 50 km south of Addis Ababa. Situated along the road to Butajira, the site features an informative museum and excavated prehistoric sites showcasing early human tools, fossils, and extinct animal remains dating back over 1.5 million years.
