Step three takes us global. Axum is not the only location claiming the mantle of the Ark. In the annals of history, the Ark has been "found" in the caverns beneath the Temple Mount, hidden in a subterranean chamber during the Maccabean revolt, spirited away to Chartres Cathedral, or buried on the island of Oak Island. By analyzing the proliferation of these claims, the objective reality emerges: the Ark has become a global phantom. Its absence in Axum is mirrored by its absence in Jerusalem, Rome, and Zimbabwe. The Ark is everywhere, and therefore, it is nowhere.
